Matthew Curtis Koval age 49 of Jackson, Michigan formerly of Alma, Michigan died Sunday, May 1, 2005 in Ionia County, MI.
Funeral Services will be held on May 5, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI. Pastor will officiate with burial at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from 6-8 P.M. & Wednesday, May 4, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Matthew was born in Highland Park, MI on October 23, 1955 the son of Steven L. and Donna I. ( Burr ) Koval
He resided most of his life in Alma, MI until moving to Jackson 20 years ago. Matthew graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1973. He then earned his Master's Degree in Engineering from Michigan Technical Institute. He owned and operated Augment Engineering in Jackson for the past 10 years. Before that he was employed at Motorola Company in Chicago; Rapid Stand in Grand Rapids; and Center Bounce in Troy. He loved water skiing, scuba diving, and bicycling. He was also a certified pilot and loved to fly. Matthew enjoyed fishing, swimming, golfing, bowling and various other activities.
He is survived by his parents Steven & Donna Koval of Alma, MI, brother Dennis Koval of Alma, MI, 2 aunts; Dorothy Cook of Coleman, MI, and Opa Linton of Midland, MI, 1 uncle, Frank Burr of Riverdale, MI, as well as several cousins and a host of friends and associates. He is predeceased by his grandparents, an aunt, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
