Matthew Adam Spencer

      Matthew Adam "Matt" Spencer, age 50, of Elsie, MI, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025.
      A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, with Captain Kory Witt officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
      Matt was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 20, 1974, the son of Dennis and Jeri (Blizzard) Spencer. He graduated from Laingsburg High School with the class of 1993. Matt married Beth on June 25, 2022, at the Elsie Area Fire Department in Elsie, MI. Matt was a dedicated firefighter for the Elsie Area Fire Department for 4 years. Matt, Beth and the kids enjoyed camping throughout Michigan together. He was a supportive and dedicated father who attended all of the kids' sporting events, concerts and plays. Matt loved his cats Peachy, Neptune and Loki. He enjoyed mud bogging and building RC cars. He was a certified mechanic for many years and worked on all kinds of vehicles. Matt was employed with the Village of Elsie DPW.
      He is survived by his wife Beth Spencer; children: Brenden, Peyton, Joslyn, Shelby, and Luke; parents Dennis and Jeri Spencer; sister Michelle and Jeff Pryslak; niece & nephew Rachel and Spencer Pryslak; and his Aunt Pam. He is also survived by his fire department family, and children he treated as his own: Kenzie Lee, Brayden Ormes, and Ethan O'Brien; and many more. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
