Max Easlick

Max Albert Easlick age 95, of Elsie, MI, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.   Burial will be at held at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Max was born in Elsie, MI on February 17, 1923, the son Vernon Gibson and Nellie (Baker) Easlick. He graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1941. On February 3, 1945 he married Rose M. Surik in Bannister, MI; Rose died on May 24, 1966.

Max worked at Midland Ross in Owosso, MI and Buick Motors in Flint, MI and he also farmed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed his companion, Suzie his cat. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were very important to him. He attended the First Baptist Church, Elsie, MI.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Joyce and Jack Wassa of Beulah, MI; Barbara K. Miller of Elsie, MI; son Richard and Raelene Easlick of Elsie, MI; 5 grandchildren: Mark (Anna) Wassa, Nichole (Victor) Scalzo, Jodie (Brent) Gillespie, Kristi (Aaron Brooks) Wassa, Amanda (Jeff) Fruchey; 8 great grandchildren: Evan, Clayton, Claire, Dominic, Ava, Ben, Max, and Willa, former wife Jo Easlick of Ovid, MI, and a special friend Barbara Kollas of Freeland, MI.  He was predeceased by his parents, wife, infant son, 2 brothers: Murray and Manley, and son-in-law Richard Miller.
