Max Leonard Hall age 82 of Ithaca, MI, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Doug Tester officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Max was born in Ithaca, MI on March 10, 1934, the son of Harold Leonard and Hazel Jay (Drayer) Hall.  He graduated from Ithaca High School.  Max served his country in the United States Army; he was stationed at Fort Knox, in the Armor Division.  Max married Mildred Elaine Whitaker on January 29, 1954 in Ithaca, MI.

Max loved to garden, and spend many hours in his garage; he was noted for his woodworking.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He retired from Alma Products after 43 years of service. Max was a life member of the BPOE Alma #1400 (Elks Lodge). He was the Elk of the Year 94-95.

He is survived by his wife Mildred “Millie” Hall, sons; Raymond “Rick” and Hazel Hall, Rodney “Rod” and Judy Hall, daughters; Rene' and Robert Rubin, Ruth Hall, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sisters in law; Pat Hall and Wanda Whitaker and many nieces and nephews.  Max was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fred Hall, sister Joyce Birmingham and twin great grandsons.

Memorials may be made to BPOE Alma #1400 (Elks Lodge), Great Lakes Hospice, Lansing, Michigan or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice.  Online condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI.
