Max Alden Loudenbeck, age 99, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Eureka Christian Church, Eureka, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, with Pastor Keith Whipple officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will take place at Payne Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI.
Max was born in Maple Rapids, Michigan on March 19, 1925, the son of Edward H. and Dora E. (Young) Loudenbeck. He graduated from Maple Rapids High School in 1941, at the age of 16. He served as his class president. Max went on to Michigan State University to study agriculture. Max married Doris Jean Upton on April 8, 1947. They celebrated 48 years of marriage before her passing. Max married Donna Ethel Kirby on April 29, 1990, and she passed away on October 27, 2021.
Max was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a past president of the Soil Conservation Group, Clinton County 4-H Leader, Artificial Breeders Association, a lifelong Mason and he was on the Clinton County Zoning Commission Board of Appeals for 33 years. He was a member of Eureka Christian Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and a church trustee. Max was a devout Christian all of his life and his faith sustained him. Max proudly served his country as Staff Sgt. in the United States Army from 1944 until 1946 in Italy during WWII.
He is survived by his children: Kathy (Don) Duquette of Ann Arbor, MI; Karen Foy of St. Paul, MN; and Brad Loudenbeck (Judy Long) of Okemos, MI; grandchildren: Gail (John) Chapman of Whitmore Lake, MI; Nathan Loudenbeck of Pennsylvania; Kyle (Rachel) Loudenbeck of Fowlerville, MI; and great-grandchildren: Dane, Shelby, Blair, Max, Kevin, Drew, Alden, and Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives: Doris Jean Loudenbeck and Donna K. Loudenbeck, his brother Kenneth Loudenbeck and sisters: Glenna Miller and Thelma Hansen.
