Funeral Obituary


Maxine "Maggie" Kelly, age 88, of St. Louis, MI died Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Tuesday, March 23rd at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Maxine was born in North Star, Michigan on January 26, 1922, the daughter of James O. and Geraldine (Hook) Brown. She attended St. Louis Schools. She married Wayne L. Kelly on May 5, 1940 at the St. Louis Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She loved hunting, fishing, painting, and bird watching. Maxine was a lifelong devoted member of the St. Louis Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years
She is survived by her son Jim and Jackie Kelly of St. Louis, MI; daughter Patsy and Bruce Harden of St. Johns, MI; 6 grandchildren Steven Kelly, Kathy Greenlee, Karen Fallot, Kelly Harris, Jeffrey Harden, and Jamie Neuenschwander; 12 great grandchildren, sister in law, Florine Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, and a brother Darrell "Buzz" Brown.
Memorials may be made to St. Louis Church of Christ. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, Michigan.
