Maynard Nelson Grandy, 87 of Ithaca, MI, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Alex Rybachek officiating.  Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Emerson Township, MI.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Maynard was born in Alma, Michigan on April 15, 1929, the son of Clair and Margaret (Marsh) Grandy.  Maynard married Marian Clark on May 3, 1946 in Alma, MI; Marian passed away on June 5, 2009.

Maynard retired from the Gratiot County Road Commission, owned rental properties and was a farmer most of his life.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dog Casey. He enjoyed wood working and deer hunting.  He was a member of Twin Cities Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Alma, MI.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Bonnie and Dave Field of Naples, FL, Mickey and Galen Miller of Ithaca, MI, Sue and Dave Engel of Atlanta, MI, and adopted son Steve Tice of Ithaca, MI, 7 grandchildren; Alex, Marc, Victoria, Macie, Melanie, Leslie and Sarah. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; Elise, Levi, Bode, Aleia, Jacob, Olivia, Michael, Ella, Lucas and Hayden. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Gary Grandy.
