Maynard Eugene "Gene" Lambert, age 72, of Perrinton, MI died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Bishop Clyde Hughes and Bishop Danny Stoneham will officiate and burial will follow at Fulton Township Cemetery Perrinton, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 from 3:00-9:00 P.M. with the family present from 3-5 & 7-9 at the funeral home.

Eugene was born in Elm Hall, Michigan on September 1, 1939, the son of Maynard Enos and Mable Ruby (Schiffler) Lambert. He married Connie Williams in Vestaburg, MI on April 8, 1961. Eugene formerly worked at Electrolux (Gibsons) and was a retired Custodian and Sexton with Dewitt Charter Township. He attended Capital City Church of God in Lansing and was a licensed minister with the Church of God.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie Lambert of Perrinton, MI, 3 sons; Brian and Sherri Lambert of Apache Junction, AZ, Terry and Georgia Lambert of Lake City, FL, Jeffrey Lambert and special friend Sherrie McGinnis of Perrinton, MI, daughter Linda and Scott Collier of Owosso, MI, grandchildren; Nicole, Tiffany, Samantha, Carrie, Jimmy (Amanda), Jarod, Erin, Michael, Noah, Zach, and Sydney, great grandchildren; Mazzy, Laila, and Lillian, brother Bruce and Sue Lambert of St. Johns, MI, 5 sisters; Pat and Lewis Sheldon of Elsie, MI, Sandy and Bill Jones of Eureka, MI, Pam Struck of Chesaning, MI, Chris and Bill Upton of Perrinton, MI, Sue Lambert of Middleton, MI, brother-in-law Richard Saylor of Bannister, MI, sister-in-laws, Dana Bottum, Maple Rapids, MI, Gail Windsor, Maple Rapids, MI, Vergeline Welch, Sumner, MI, Denise Lambert, Middleton, MI and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandson Ethan Hoch, daughter-in-law Sandi Lambert, sister Judy Saylor, 4 brothers; Rick, Roger, Denny and Gary Lambert and brother-in-law Larry Struck.
