Maynard Sylvester Netzley, age 93, of St. Louis, MI died Monday, May 28, 2012 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Burial will take place at Salt River Cemetery in Shepherd, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Maynard was born in Isabella County, Michigan on October 28, 1918, the son of Ora Sylvester and Alma Elisabeth (Clemens) Netzley. He attended St Louis High School after 8 years at Burlingame Country School. Maynard married Lois Arlene Fairchild on January 8, 1938 in Angola, IN. He was a lifelong resident and farmer. In the past, Maynard enjoyed pheasant hunting. He had served on the Coe Twp. Board of Review for 15 years, and was a member of Farm Bureau. Maynard and Lois enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years Lois Netzley of Alma, MI, daughter Rochelle and Ken Ruedger of Alma, MI, brother in law and sister in law Willis and Jane Fairchild of Elwell, MI, sister in law Juanita Netzley, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and daughter in law Dennis and Barbara Netzley, brother Max Netzley, a grandson, a granddaughter, and a sister in law Verlyn Hamilton.
