Melinda Leigh ( DeGood ) Kidd age 43 of Dallas, Texas formerly of Corunna, Michigan died Saturday, January 22, 2005 in Dallas, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Rev. John R. Miller will officiate with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
Melinda was born in Durand, Michigan on April 22, 1961 the daughter of Henry John & Delores Mae ( Shears ) DeGood. She graduated from Corunna High School with the class of 1978, and then attended Lansing Community College where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing. Melinda was married to John David Kidd. They married on September 30, 1978. She resided most of her life in Corunna, Michigan before moving to Dallas, Texas. Melinda was a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Fraternity, and she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She is survived by her parents, Henry & Delores DeGood of Scottville, MI, 2 brothers; John & Linda DeGood of Corunna, MI, David DeGood of Fountain, MI, 2 sisters; Barbara Powlison of Novi, MI, Donna & Paul Martin of Marshfield, MO, daughter Michelle & Jeff Peltier of Owosso, MI, son Private Roy Kidd of Paris Island, SC, son John Jr. Kidd of Roscommon, MI, daughter Meredith Kidd of Roscommon, MI, Richard Acree of Dallas, TX, John David Kidd of Roscommon, MI, 2 grandchildren; Somer & Kristin Peltier, several nieces & nephews.
Memorials may be made to Corunna High School Scholarship Fund. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel
