Melvin Richard Smith age 72 of Ithaca, Michigan died on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at 716 E. North Street, Ithaca, MI.
Melvin was born on July 5, 1934 in Morley, Michigan the son of King and Anna ( Bacon ) Smith. He married Alta May Kilts on August 27, 1953 and they moved to Ithaca in 1978 from Lansing, Michigan.
Melvin retired in 1981 from Lundburg Screw Products in Lansing, Michigan. Melvin enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Alta May Smith of Ithaca, MI, 5 children; Patricia & Chris Knopf of Elwell, MI, Robin Kinney of Ithaca, MI, Rick & Brenda Smith of Leslie, MI, Elena Burr of Perrinton, MI, Scott Smith of Alma, MI, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 sister Mary Ann Risk of Arkansas. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 granddaughter, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Memorials may be made to the family or to the American Cancer Society. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
