Merle Carlson

Merle Elsworth Carlson, age 78, of Breckenridge, MI, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center - Gratiot, Alma, MI.

Cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. He will be buried with his father at Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes, MI.

Merle was born in Greenville, MI on January 20, 1942, the son of Albin Wilfred and Martina B. (Stephens) Carlson. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He lived in both Michigan and California.

Merle enjoyed gardening. During his 2 years at Heart's Content, he looked forward to mowing the lawn each week. Merle loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Merle is survived by 3 sons: Jeff (Sandy) Carlson of CA, Keith Carlson of CA and Richard (Pam) Carlson of St. Louis, MI; 8 grandchildren: Scott Carlson, Dustin Carlson, Keith Carlson, Jesse Carlson, Matthew Clark, Nathan Carlson, Conner Carlson, and Lilly Carlson 2 great-grandchildren: Hunter Carlson and Remmie Carlson; bonus granddaughter Mary Johnson, and brother Wifred Carlson.  Merle was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Keri Carlson, and sister Hattie.
