Michael Stephen Carter

     Michael Stephen "Mike" Carter, age 78, of Breckenridge, MI, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Midland, Michigan.

     Cremation will take place and there will be no services at this time. Burial will take place at a later date at Klees Cemetery, Ferris Township, MI.

     Michael was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 17, 1944, the son of Arland John and Ruby Mae (Posey) Carter. He graduated from Vestaburg High School with the class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War Era. Mike retired in 1997 from General Motors, Saginaw after 28 years of service. Up until his auto accident in 2013, Mike enjoyed tinkering on his tractors and pick-ups at his home shop, and visiting the farm where he grew up. He enjoyed playing pool in his younger days, as well as fishing and hunting. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan. He could always be seen wearing his U of M shirt and cap.

   He is survived by his siblings: Edward (Kathryn), Marcella, Westley (Mary), Kelly, Perry, and Todd. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. He especially loved his nieces: Ela and Jenna.  He is also survived by a special friend Mitch.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Carla, and special friend Laura.
