Michael Richard "Mike" Criner

      Michael Richard "Mike" Criner, age 66, of DeWitt, MI, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at his home.

     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery at a later date.

     Michael was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 9, 1956, the son of Richard Arthur and Mary June (Schuetz) Criner.  He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1974.

     He was very proud of his four classic cars and has won many awards with each of them. He was a member of the Cadillac and LaSalle Club and was looking forward to the Grand National in Albuquerque, NM in 2023. He loved his two cats Puff and Isis. He enjoyed his travels and beach time in Florida. He especially loved his time with his family. He was a Computer Programmer for the State of Michigan DHS Department for over 30 years.

     He is survived by his parents Richard and Mary Criner of Linwood, MI; brothers: Paul (Debbie) Criner of Linwood, MI; Rodney (Elizabeth) Criner of St. Louis, MI; five nieces and nephews: Alicia Monroe, Eric (Becky) Criner, Shannon Criner, Drew (Elizabeth) Criner and Sean Sampson; and many great nieces and nephews.
