Michael Gross

Michael Melvin Gross, 56, of Wheeler, joined up with Heaven’s band on Thursday, February 21, 2019. He was born December 22, 1962 to Franklin and Jean (Miller) Gross Jr. in Carson City, MI. He graduated from Ashley High School with the Class of ‘81.

Mike worked many various jobs but mainly with his hands. He was a construction worker/foreman for many different companies and individuals. He was known for his hard work, his work ethic, and craftsmanship.

He is survived by his girlfriend Angela Bearden, two sons: Josh Tithof of Detroit and Brendan Chobod of Breckenridge; and his daughter Raelea Gross of Chesaning. He also leaves behind his parents Frank and Jean Gross Jr. of Chesaning, brothers: Franklin (Cindy) Gross III of Elsie, Jeffrey (Laura) Gross of Wadsworth, OH and his sister Deann (Brad) Smith of Elsie. He has several nieces and nephews.

Mike was an amazing musician. He played lead guitar for many bands including his latest, “Ndangered Species”. He composed, wrote, and played with enthusiasm, perfection, and passion. He loved performing on stage as well as just jamming with the band. HE LOVED TO ROCK!! He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at East Washington United Brethren Church 8051 S. Crapo Road, Ashley, MI on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 3:00 P.M., with Pastor Jeff Gross and Pastor Herb Wheelock officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:30-3 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
