Michael Timothy Hackett

      Michael Timothy Hackett, age 71, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
      A cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
      Michael was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 28, 1954, the son of Jack Eaton and Hazel Ruth (Burhans) Hackett. He graduated from St. Johns High School with the Class of 1972. He worked for General Motors for 34 years, retiring in 2006.
      Michael loved his family and his time with his "little darling" granddaughters. He faithfully supported them in their activities. He enjoyed camping, riding his Harley, and gardening. He was especially proud of his 1954 GMC pickup which he restored and took to many car-shows. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and successfully completed the DALMAC several times.
      He is survived by three sons: Geoffrey (Cheryl) Hackett of St. Johns, MI; Brian Hackett of Lansing, MI; and Andrew (Amy) Hackett of Dowagiac, MI; three granddaughters: Ashlyn, Olivia, and Hailey; sister Lisa Smith, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Miranda, and siblings: John Hackett, Larry Hackett, Alice Hackett, and Gloria Sweitzer.
