Michael McCoy

Michael W. "Mike" McCoy, age 70, of Alma, MI passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his home.

Private Family Graveside Services will take place at Chapel Gardens Cemetery, Elwell, MI at a later date. A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Monday November 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Louis VFW Post, 1295 West Monroe Road, St. Louis, Michigan, 48880

Michael was born in Ferndale, Michigan on December 8, 1944, the son of Rollin and Dorothy (Wark) McCoy. Mike graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1963. Mike served his country in the United States Army; he recieved a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. Mike married Sharon Leiferman on August 24, 1968. Mike retired from GM after 30 years of employment. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing and NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Louis VFW and the UAW.

He is survived by his wife Sharon McCoy of Alma, MI, children; Michael and Amy McCoy of Alma, MI, Kristy and Mark Johnson of Alma, MI, grandchildren; Jordan, Hailie, Caleb, and Cody, sister Donna Jean O'Boyle of Alma, MI, sister in law Sally McCoy of Alma, MI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary McCoy, sister Judy Ann McCoy, and brother in law Jed O'Boyle.
