Michael Edward Sangster, age 44, of St. Louis, MI died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot, Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at First Church of God in Alma on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Steven Wimmer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, MI. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.
Michael was born in Alma, Michigan on September 22, 1969, the son of Kenneth L. and Eunice M. (Jones) Sangster. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1988. He joined the US Navy and served from 1988-1994. Mike married Donna Czachowrski on September 21, 1996 in St. Louis. Mike was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. He was currently employed at Anchor Danly in Ithaca, MI. He loved all outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of Alma First Church of God. Mike was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His wife was his main priority in life; there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for her. His children and grandson were his pride and joy. Mike was very passionate about every aspect of life. His laughter proved that in so many different ways. Mike will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife Donna Sangster of St. Louis, MI, 4 children; Samantha Sangster of St. Louis, MI, Nicholas Sangster of St. Louis, MI, Christina Laethem and Jason McLachlan of Tampa, FL, and Alisha Laethem of St. Louis, MI, 1 grandson Daelyn Gross of St. Louis, MI, father Kenneth Sangster Sr. of St. Louis, MI, brother Kenneth Sangster Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, MI, mother-in-law Betty Czachowrski of Sumner, MI, sister-in-law Cindy Everts of Sumner, MI, brother-in-law Edward Czachowrski Jr. of Sumner, MI, brother-in-law William and Kari Czachowrski of Sumner, MI, sister in law Theresa Sangster, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Eunice Sangster, nephew Robert Sangster, and father in law Edward Czachowrski Sr.
