She was also head cook for the migrant school program in the Ithaca Public Schools for several years. Mildred loved traveling, reading western paperback novels, gardening, spending time with her family and friends, cooking, baking her famous cinnamon pecan rolls and homemade bread, and sitting on her front porch swing. She loved going to church, visiting with her friends at the Jesus Coffee House, listening to the musical groups who entertained the patients at Schnepps Health Care Center, and eating at and visiting with her friends at Tacho's Mexican Food. She disliked what she considered untasty food, uncomfortable beds, bed pans, dull surroundings and weedy gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Jesus' Coffee House, 201 N. Mill St., St. Louis, MI 48880
