Mildred Roof

Mildred Roof passed away at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital on July 24, 2015 at the age 88. She was born on May 31, 1927 in Greenbush Township, the daughter of Frederick and Edna (Bartlett) Schavey. She married William Roof on March 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Anna Roof of Elsie, MI, her sons, James (Lynda) of St. Johns, Thomas (Denise) and Roger Roof both of Elsie; eight grandchildren,17 great grandchildren; brother, Lewis Schavey; sister, Mabel Beck; sister-in-law, Coralee Roof and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by sisters Vera Ward, Viola Overfield and Dorothy Whittaker; infant brother, Theodore and brother, Gaylord Schavey.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, July 27, 2015 at Osgood Funeral Home, 104 East Cass Street, St. Johns, MI with Rev. Phil Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at the Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, July 26 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. Contributions will be made to a charity of the family's choice.
