Mildred I Worden, age 84, of Ovid, MI went to be with the Lord and Savior on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Secord officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mildred was born in Kenton, Ohio on January 28, 1928, the daughter of Ben and Gertrude (Kiester) Newman. Mildred married Frank Worden on August of 1957; Frank predeceased her on September 23, 1973. Mildred was a homemaker and resided in Ovid, Michigan for the past 61 years. She was a member of Fenmore Baptist Church.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Diana Newman of Ovid, MI, and Fran Bashore of Ashley, MI, 5 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, brother Dale and Laura Newman of East Port, MI, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law Frank and Beverly Worden, 2 daughters; Irma Worden, and Patricia Janes, 2 grandsons; Paul Janes, and Frank Worden, 1 great granddaughter Chelsea Janes, 3 sisters; Ivy Newman, Edith Burger, and Ruby Newman, and brother Clifton Newman.
