Mona Bunting

Mona Mae Bunting, 88, of St. Louis, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Laurels of Fulton, Perrinton.

A Funeral Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Doug Strait officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 P.M. until time of the service.

Mona was born in Barryton, MI on December 6, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Floy (Covert) Bentley. She proudly graduated from St. Louis High School with her son Marvin in 1970.

In March of 1952, Mona married Marvin Jesse Bunting Sr. in Owosso, MI. They were blessed with 39 years of marriage prior to his death on January 30, 1992.

After her husband's passing, Mona enjoyed working for the Gratiot County Commission on Aging as an assistant cook. She loved her cats and her dog Missy. She liked doing crafts. She loved her family and loved to have the grandkids visit up North.

Mona is survived by daughter-in-law Deb Bunting, former daughter-in-law Barbara Bunting, 6 grandchildren: Tammy (Mike) Howd of St. Louis, Jeremy (Heather) Bunting, Nathan (Helen) Bunting, Mark Bunting, Natasha Wilson and Dezaray Phelps; 11 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren, sister Betty Marie Balcer, and many nieces and nephews.  Mona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin Sr., 3 sons: Marvin Arlo Bunting Jr., Michael Duane Bunting, and Mark Alvin Bunting; and 3 brothers: Dale Bentley, Arlo Bentley, and Harold Bentley.
