Muriel L. Benson, age 97, of Alma passed away on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at Warwick Living Center in Alma. A Graveside Service will be held at Mt.Pleasant Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 19th at 2:30 PM.
Muriel was born in Newton, MA on May 11, 1912, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Noonan) Langell. She graduated from Newton High School class of 1930.
She was married to Fred Benson on July 25, 1936. He passed away in June of 2002. Muriel resided most of her life in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She was a homemaker, and loved to sew, garden, and bird watch.
She is survived by her son Edmund and Patricia Benson of St.Louis, MI;daughter in law Linda Benson of St.Louis, MI;daughter in law Judith Benson of California;son in law Robert Hillis of Massachusetts;7 Grandchildren; and 6 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons Leonard and Ronald, 1 daughter Barbara, 1 granddaughter, and 2 sisters.
