Myrtie Lelah Hier age 96 of Owosso, Michigan died Saturday, November 20, 2004 at Durand Convalescent Manor in Durand, MI.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Rev. Grant Lobb will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
Myrtie was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 18, 1908 the daughter of Leonard Edward & Lelah Maud ( Kerby ) Luce. She resided most of her life in the Owosso & Corunna Area. She graduated from Flint Central High School with the class of 1927. Myrtie married Jesse Eddy Hier on June 29, 1928 in Lennon, Michigan; Jesse predeceased her on January 24, 1967. She worked on the farm until 1962, she than went to work at Memorial Healthcare Center in the kitchen for 13A½ years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Owosso since 1986. She was active in the Shiawassee County 4-H program for over 40 years.
She is survived by 2 sons George Earl Hier of Burton, MI, Erwin Jesse & Janet Hier of Owosso, MI, 1 daughter Edith Lucille Allen of Three Oaks, MI, 20 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren & 25 great great grandchildren, and 1 sister Loleta A. Potter of Durand, MI. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, son in-law, Donald Allen, 2 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren, and daughter in law Electa Hier.
Memorials may be made to Durand Convalescent Center Activities Program or Shiawassee County 4-H Program in her memory. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel
