Myrtle Eleanor deBoom age 102 of Owosso, Michigan died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Duane Harris will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery Owosso Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 3 to 8 p.m. with the family present 3-5 & 6-8 p.m.

Myrtle was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 11, 1905 the daughter of George and Ida ( Allen ) Root. She resided most of her life in Owosso and graduated from Owosso High School. Myrtle married Adrian deBoom in Owosso, on September 1, 1927. He passed away in 1985. Myrtle was a homemaker and worked as a secretary in the public school system. She liked to travel, and she enjoyed bird watching, bird feeding, flowers and she loved nature. Keeping in touch with her friends and relatives was important to her. Myrtle was a member of First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI.

She is survived by her daughter Alice Morris of Owosso, 2 sons; Edward & Mary Lou deBoom of Grand Haven, MI, Frederick & Mary deBoom of Huntington Beach, CA, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great great granchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, two daughters; Mary Bea Wasper and Florence (Wiseman) Kates, grandson Craig Morris, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI.
