Myrtle Findlay

Myrtle Belle Findlay, age 99, passed away February 6, 2013 in St. Johns, Michigan. Myrtle was born November 20, 1913 in Essex Township the daughter of Raymond and Ivah (Jury) Green. She was a teacher before she married Loree Findlay on September 1, 1937 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2006. Myrtle was known for her laughter, love of sewing and delicious meals. No one ever left her home hungry. She shared her cooking talents at the Salt Box House Restaurant, Clinton Memorial Hospital and St. Johns Schools cafeteria. Most of all, Myrtle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Myrtle is survived by her children, Catherine (James) Carroll of St. Johns, John "Jack" (Claire) Findlay of Spring Lake, Janet (Owen) Orndorff of Boise, ID, Jean (Dennis) Tuttle of Spring, TX, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Myrtle is also survived by her sister, Alice Bullard, sister-in-law, Glenna Findlay and brother-in-law, Edwin (Kathleen) Beattie. Myrtle was also preceded in death by Esther and Lawrence Crosby, Sam and Omah Green, Ruth and Neil Ferguson, Paul Bullard, Donald Green, Trudy and Dale Boyles, Hazel Beattie, and Don Findlay.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns, Michigan with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating, burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
