Nancy Michael

Nancy Ann Michael, age 80, of East Lansing, MI formerly of Owosso, MI passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Burcham Hills, East Lansing, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Fr. John Fain will officiate. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Nancy was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 4, 1929, the daughter of Charles A. and Carolyn (Powers) Kirn. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated with the class of 1947. Nancy married Leo Michael on September 8, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky. Leo passed away on February 7, 2001. Nancy enjoyed her family & friends and she liked being active in the community. Nancy was a mentor in the local Elementary Mentor Programs. She had a smile that would light up a room. She resided in the Owosso area since 1963. Nancy was a member of Memorial Healthcare Auxilary and Owosso Country Club. She was also a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church Owosso, MI.

She is survived by son Christopher Michael of Laingsburg, MI, 2 daughters; Mary Meyer of Owosso, MI, Carolyn and Mark Nowlin of Okemos, MI, 7 grandchildren; Mollie, Anna, Hunter, Lily, Ava, Evan and Jackson, and 2 great-grandsons; Zac and Kolten. She is also survived by her sister, Judi and Bill Sikes, and 2 brothers; Theodore and Patsy Kirn, and Robert and Jane Kirn. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Leo, infant child Mary, and 3 sisters; Patricia, Bettye and June.
