Nancy Smejkal

Nancy Jane Smejkal, age 70, of Sumner, MI passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor John Hagerman officiating.  Burial will take place at New Haven Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 17, 2015 from 4-6 P.M. and on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes  Ithaca, MI.

Nancy was born in Alma, Michigan on May 28, 1945, the daughter of Rockford and Kathryn (Peters) Browne.  She resided most of her life in Sumner, MI.  Nancy married Ron Smejkal on April 2, 1966 in Ithaca, MI.  Nancy loved spending time with her family.  She had a deep religious belief and was an active member of New Haven Church of God.  Nancy loved life and to know her was to love her.  She volunteered her time at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot.

She is survived by her husband Ron Smejkal of Sumner, MI, son Stephen Smejkal of Alma, MI, daughter Rebecca and Jeremy Graham of St. Louis, MI, 2 grandsons; Matthew and Zachariah Graham, father Rockford Browne of Sumner, MI, brother Kenneth and Carolyn Browne of Sumner, MI and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Nancy was preceded in death by her mother and a brother Jimmy Browne.
