Nancy Jo Wood, age 59, of St. Louis, MI passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland, MI.
A Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI.
Nancy was born in Alma, Michigan on January 5, 1956, the daughter of Duane and Clara Mae (Hitchcock) Lane. She graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1974. Nancy married Michael Wood on April 5, 1974. They spent 44 years together.
Nancy resided in St. Louis her entire life. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and taking care of her home. She enjoyed writing poetry and was a published poet. Nancy was a very courageous woman and a very devoted mother. She loved spending time with her family and animals. Nancy was a parent advocate for neurodiverse individuals and those with physical disabilities as well; helping pave the way for those with life challenges.
She is survived by her husband Michael Wood of St. Louis, MI, son Adam Wood of St. Louis, MI, father Duane Lane of Elk Rapids, MI, sister Jacqueline and Daniel Evey of Sumner, MI, nephew Ron Lytle of Breckendridge, MI, and niece Heather and Jason Poll of Kingsford, MI. She was preceded in death by her mother, infant son Douglas and infant daughter Sarah.
