Naomi Mae Rose age 71, of Alma, MI died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Schnepp Health Care Center St. Louis, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Church of God, St. Louis, MI, on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Randall Mead will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Naomi was born in Shepherd, Michigan on June 6, 1936, the daughter Dwight and Hazel (Foutch) VanNote. She resided most of her life in Gratiot County, Michigan and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1954. Naomi married Loren Rose on June 18, 1955 in St. Louis, Michigan. Naomi retired from Alma Public Schools in 1997 were she worked as a secretary. She also established the Riverdale School Library and worked there for several years. She loved shopping, garage sales, and the local truck sales. Naomi enjoyed spending time with her friends and grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat's Society as well as a member of the St. Louis First Church of God.
She is survived by her husband Loren Rose of Alma, MI, 2 sons Glenn L. & Gloria Rose of Alma, MI, Gregg L. & Shelly Rose of Wheeler, MI, 5 grandchildren; Mollie Sourek, Stephanie Sourek, Glenn Rose Jr., Loren Rose, Elliot Rose, sister Jeanette & Don Nelson of Vista, CA, and 2 brothers Bob & Ginny VanNote of Cheboygan, MI, Paul & Glenda VanNote of Palm Harbor, FL. She was predeceased by her parents.
