Nellie Ryan

Nellie B. Ryan, age 94, passed away February 19, 2015. Born July 21,1920 in Essex Twp., the daughter of Carl and Castella (Mesevery) Ryan. Nellie worked at MacKinnon & Son Fabric Store until she retired and the store closed in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and volunteered at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, Clinton Memorial Hospital, the Senior Center and was the Kiwanis Layperson of the year in 2001.

Surviving is sister, Margaret Ann Swanchara of Bannister and several nieces and nephews. Nellie was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl "Kenneth" Ryan and John Ryan, sisters-in-law, Mary "Kay" Ryan and Kathleen Wickiser Ryan and brother-in-law, Edward Swanchara.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating, burial at Payne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
