Nellie Laura Thurlow age 88 of Owosso, Michigan died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Memorial Healthcare Long Term Care Unit, Owosso, Michigan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, Owosso, MI on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Fr. John Fain will officiate with burial at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery Saginaw, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan.

Nellie was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 25, 1919 the daughter of Joseph and Ann ( Chaltraw ) Drouillard. She resided in Owosso since 1986, previously living in Saginaw and Wixom Lake. Nellie married Harold J. Thurlow, February 15, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan. He passed away on March 4, 1985. Nellie was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. Nellie was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Owosso. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. Mary's Cathedral in Saginaw and St. Anne in Edonville where she was also a Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by her daughter Rosemary & William Mertens of Owosso, MI, grandson Joseph Mertens of Saline, MI, sister Marion Harmon of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, special nieces Susan Reid, Sharon Kleinfelder, Joann Morse, Helen LaForge, brother-in-law Alfred Clayton of Saginaw, MI, sister-in-law Catherine Drouillard of Saginaw, MI, and many special friends. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, two brothers; Alfred and Joseph Drouillard, two brothers in infancy; James & Ernest, sister Bessie Clayton, sister-in-law Cora Drouillard, and niece Annette Falkenhagen.
