Nettie Marie Raymond Fenton, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend, of St. Louis passed away Monday, March 28, 2005 at Schnepp Health Care Center in St. Louis at the age of 93 to be with her beloved Savior.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 from 7-8 and Thursday, March 31, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM
Nettie was born on May 19, 1911 in Pleasant Valley, MI the daughter of Warren and Mae (Salisbury) Raymond. She was a lifelong resident of St. Louis, MI and she graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1929. Nettie married Arthur Fenton on June 25, 1930 in Pleasant Valley. He preceded her in death at the young age of 58 on May 11, 1970.
She was a homemaker, where she and Arthur spent most of their lives in rural St. Louis. She was a great lover of family, friends, and her flowers which she shared with many people. Nettie also had a love for music, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her last few years were spent with her daughter Margaret & Clayton Wale in Roscommon, MI then with her granddaughter Denise Goetz and family of St. Louis before moving to Schnepp Health Care Center. She and her husband became members of the St. Louis Church of Christ May 10, 1968 and later she was a member of the Grayling Church of Christ
She is survived by her daughter Margaret & Clayton Wale on St. Louis, MI, her son John & Sharon Fenton of St. Louis, MI, daughter in law Lorna Fenton, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters Margaret Raymond, Mercy Raymond Priest, a brother, John Raymond, and a brother and sister in law, Bob& Marion (Acton) Raymond; son William Fenton, Son Richard Fenton, great granddaughter Amy Joe Fenton, grandson Mike Robinson, great grandchild Joshua D. Brown
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Louis Church of Christ, or Gratiot Area Hospice. The Family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
