Nichole Blacker

Nichole Cathrine Blacker, age 34, of Ovid, MI, passed away after a year of illness with her husband and family by her side on Monday, February 17, 2020, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Nichole was born in Lansing, MI on December 11, 1985, the daughter of Lori (Ward) and Terry Rose. She graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School. On September 6, 2003, Nichole married Jonathan Curtis Blacker at Mt. Hope Church in Ovid, MI.

Nichole was a Registered Medical Assistant at MSU until her illness forced her to resign last fall.

Nichole dearly loved her husband and family. They were the most important people in her life! She enjoyed her coffee dates with her sister and cousin. Nichole loved time at the pool and on the deck sun tanning. She was a sweet person who loved others.

Nichole is survived by her husband Jon, 3 children: Hunter, Faith, and J.D.; parents Lori and Terry Rose. She is also survived by brother Cory (Eliana) Nobach, step-brother T.J. (Danelle) Rose, step-sister Brandy Rose, 2 brothers-in-law: Josh (Jazmin) Blacker, and Michael Blacker; her mother-in-law Theresa Blacker; father-in-law Don Blacker; and many nieces and nephews.  Nichole was preceded in death by her brother Chad Nobach and grandmother Cleola Ward.
