Nilah Jean (Anderson) Netzley, age 88, of St. Louis, MI, formerly of Owosso, MI died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Grand Haven Assisted Living, Lansing, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Nilah was born in Hartford City, IN on February 23, 1925, the daughter of Howard C. and Thelma S. (Wright) Croy. Nilah married Earl J. Netzley on August 11, 1983; he died November 22, 2010 after 27 years of marriage. Nilah was a Registered Nurse in Haiti from 1958-1962 and returned there several times after. Nilah enjoyed quilting, dried flower arranging, teaching dried flower arranging and playing bridge and pinochle. She enjoyed wintering in Florida and fishing trips to Canada. Nilah was a member of Wheeler Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by son Jim Anderson of Vernon, MI, daughter Joyce Anderson of Holt, MI, son Jeff Anderson of Perry, MI, 3 grandchildren; Kristel Anderson of Perry, MI, Jacob Anderson of Lansing, MI, Alisha Anderson of Perry, MI, 2 great grandchildren; Shelby & Cash, 2 stepdaughters; Tanarae and John Lemmermann of Ithaca, MI, and Pamela Haynes of Sunrise, FL, stepson Denis and Brenda Netzley of St. Louis, MI, 2 brothers; John and Loretta Croy of Warsaw, IN, Herman and Doris Croy of Fort Wayne, IN, 2 sisters; Eileen and Stan Cook of Warsaw, IN, Janice and John Roberts of Warsaw, IN, sister-in-law Alice Croy of Ocala, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Nilah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son Baby Anderson, grandson Matthew James Anderson, daughter-in-law Tracy Marie Anderson and brother Kenneth Croy.
