Nita N. Bennett, 83, of St. Louis, MI went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her home. She has continued her singing with God's great Choir.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Nita was born on June 24, 1931 in Alma, MI and was raised in Elwell, MI by her loving parents; Alfred and Ora Nelson. She was raised with her brother Burt Nelson. She graduated from Alma High School. She was an associate of Dow Chemical Co. where she retired after 25 years of service. She was a devoted and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of St. Louis. It was here she shared her love of the Choir with many of her Church Family members. Her passion was the love for her pet, Nuggi; who was always by her side. She had a great compassion for all animals and enjoyed feeding the birds daily. She had a big heart and helped support as many animal and wild life organizations as she possibly could. She was an avid enthusiastic sportswoman; she enjoyed participating in soft ball, golf, tennis, bowling, and skiing. One of her special talents was her cooking. Her family enjoyed many special dinners throughout the years at several gatherings.
She is survived by her special friend and dearest companion, Jo Ward of St. Louis, 2 precious children; Julie (Hans) Anderson, Chip (Cammy) Bennett both of Elwell, MI, 7 grandchildren; Odin Anderson, Enon (Jessica) Anderson, Aron Anderson, Cheyenne Bennett, Samantha Bennett, Jasmine Bennett and Triston Bennett. She is also survived by 2 great grand children; Zayden Bennett and Palin Anderson.
