Noreen Ackels

Noreen L. Ackels age 79, of Lansing, formerly of Elsie, MI passed away Friday, January 6, 2017, at Eaton Community Palliative Care, Charlotte, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Tim Dickinson officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Noreen was born in Caledonia Township, MI on October 21, 1937, the daughter of Francis and Nettie (Currier) Newell She graduated from Owosso High School.  On June 13, 1959 she married Kenneth Ackels in Owosso, Michigan; Ken died on October 16, 2013. Noreen was a bookkeeper for F.C. Mason Company, Clinton National Bank, and retired from Builders Exchange, Lansing, MI. She resided most of her life in the Elsie and Lansing areas.

She is survived by her son Todd and Pamela Ackels of Ovid, MI; daughter Terry Ackels of Lansing, MI; and 2 grandchildren; Duncan, and Lillian. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother William Newell.
