Norma Alward

Norma Mae Alward age 77 of Alma, MI, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Warwick Living Center, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Norma was born in Midland, MI on May 4, 1939, the daughter of Harold and Ildah (Stahl) Hale.  She graduated from St. Louis High School and went on to attend cosmetology school.  Norma was a stay at home mom who spent most of her time caring for her son DeL. She spent several years working at Mid Michigan Industries.  Norma enjoyed going to the casino with her daughter and she liked playing bingo.

She is survived by daughter Christine (Alward) and Jennifer Lambert, of St. Louis, MI, grandsons; Skylar Alward, and Zachary Schalk, great grandson Blake Alward, brother Larry and Cheryl Hale of Weidman, MI, niece Jenna and Mark Rudy of St. Louis, MI, and nephew Michael and Laurie  Hale of St. Louis, MI.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son DeLance Christian Ebnit Alward, and a sister.
