Norma Brock

Norma Jean Brock, age 88, of Maple Rapids, MI, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019, at Country Friends Assisted Living, Sumner, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at the Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church, Maple Rapids, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, with Pastor Jerry Kissling officiating. Internment  will take place at Sowle Cemetery, Essex Township, MI. Visitation will be held 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Monday, December 9, 2019, at Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church  and at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday prior to the service.

Norma was born in Carson City, Michigan on May 2, 1931, the daughter of Alexander and Lauretta (Wiles) Kerkes. On October 16, 1948, Norma married Donald C. Brock in Ithaca, Michigan.  They were blessed with 55 years of marriage before Bud passed away on April 30, 2004. Norma and Bud were members of Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church.

Norma loved tending her flowers and garden. She enjoyed bird watching. Norma liked playing games and trips to the casino. She always looked forward to trips with her family and family gatherings. Norma loved her dogs. She worked in dietary at Carson City Hospital for over 30 years and was a member of the Red Hatters Society.

Norma is survived by 4 children:  Kirk and Ruth Brock of St. Johns, MI; Sandra and Bobby Pugh of Maple Rapids, MI; Carol and Cruz Zamarripa of Genesee, MI; and Rodney Brock and Vicki Blake of Eddyville, KY. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Michele and Eric Andrews, Scott Feldpausch, Richard Powers, Catherine Feldpausch, Kimberly and William Garland, Traci and Nick Szczochowski, Michael and Stacy Feldpausch and Beth Kincaid and William Fitzpatrick; 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great-great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.   Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald "Bud" Brock, and a brother Neil Kerkes.
