Norma Beatrice Hickman, age 80, of Owosso, MI passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Carole Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday March 13, 2009 from 2-8 PM and Saturday March 14, 2009 from 11-1 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI.
Norma was born in Leonard, Michigan on June 25, 1928, the daughter of Guy O. and Jennie (Middleditch) Parish. Norma had lived in Owosso since 1952 and attended Owosso High School and Lansing Community College. Norma married Daniel Hickman in Angola, Indiana. He passed away on February 26, 1996. She was the Supervisor of Housekeeping & Laundry for Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility (Pleasant View), retiring in 1991 and held offices in the Executive Housekeeping Association. Family was very important to Norma, she also played Ladies Softball and did mentoring for Bryant School. She was a loyal Detroit Tigers fan and liked attending Country Music Jamborees. Norma was a member of the Burton United Methodist Church.
Norma is survived by her son Daniel E. and Gladys Hickman of Corunna, MI, daughter Danetta Jo Hickman of Owosso, MI, 5 grandchildren; Daniel and Jeanie Hickman, Carrie Hickman, Jennie Jo Hickman, Amy Lea (Lashaway) and Daniel Rivett and Justin McNamara, 5 great grandchildren; Ashley Hickman, Curtis Hickman, Devon Hickman, Madison Hickman and Danni Rivett, and well as several nieces, nephews and very close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel Hickman, daughter Brenda Lashaway and 5 sisters.
