Norma Netzley

Norma Jean Netzley of Richmond, Michigan, formerly of Ithaca, Michigan passed away on October 31, 2007 at the age of 81 due to a fatal car accident.

Norma was born March 16, 1926 at the family homestead in Breckenridge, Lafayette Township, MI. She was the daughter of Merritt and Edna (Greening) Sherwood. She resided most of her life in Ithaca, MI and attended Brechenridge Schools. Norma loved spending time with her family & friends. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, painting, and working in the flower garden. Norma married Ira "Stub" Netzley, Jr. on March 18, 1944, spending 53 years together until his death in 1977. Norma was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her children; Stuart and Norma Lynda Netzley of Ithaca, MI, Jean Nelson of Phoeniz, AZ, Wayne and Debora Netzley of Ithaca, MI, grandchildren; Tim Netzley, Jill Jones, Tricia Talley, Denise Hagen, Mary Cay Singleton, great grandchildren; Devon Netzley, Keenan Kinder, Natasha Netzley, Jessica Jones, Freya Hagen, Madalynn Singleton, and three more on the way, sister Kathryn and Dale Gould of Breckenridge, MI, and companion of six years Frank Shepherd. She is predeceased by husband, parents, baby daughter Charlene, and brother and sister-in-law Gerald & Doris Sherwood.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel Ithaca, MI on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 2-8 p.m. with the family present 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
