O.D. Hundley

Age 81 of Port Charlotte, Florida formerly of Alma passed away Monday, December 1, 2003 at Quality Health Care Center in North Port, Florida. He retired in 1986 from Total Refinery as a Pipe fitter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Pastor Greg Oa�(TM)Boyle will officiate. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
O.D. was born on November 23, 1922 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of George Thomas and Clare (Mayes) Hundley. On January 24, 1942 he married Margaret Beery in St. Louis, Michigan. He served his country in WWII in the Marine Corp. He was active in organizing a day center and workshop for mentally handicapped children. He later organized alternate housing and a camp for those children. He was a Sunday school teacher at his church and was very active in church activities. He also loved to travel and spend time with his family. He resided most of his life in Alma, until retiring and then moved to Port Charlotte, Florida. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Louis and then an active member of First Baptist Church of North Port, Florida.
Survivors include his beloved and devoted wife, Margaret Hundley of Port Charlotte, FL, 3 sons, Thomas L. & Karen Hundley of Flint, MI, James D. & Pamela Hundley of Port Crane, NY, and Rodney B. Hundley of Elm Hall, MI, 6 grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, a grandson, John Mark, and 2 brothers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
