Olga Joan Neely age 84 of St. Louis, Michigan died on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, Michigan. A memorial service will be set at a later date.
Olga was born on February 18, 1922 in Rosebush, Michigan the daughter of John & Susanna (Dragon) Shiraef. She married Harry (Gene) Neely on June 11, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Harry predecesed her on September 5, 2001.
Professionally, she performed antique appraisals; repaired antique dolls and oil paintings; and refinished furniture. Hobbies included doll collecting; gardening; creating dried and fresh floral arrangements; listening to music and attending concerts ( the last concert she went to was Moody Blues); walking on M-46 to St. Louis every day; quilting, crocheting, and sewing; refinishing furniture, caning chairs and writing.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda Neely of St. Louis and Peg Minert of Washington D.C., 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Stewart Feldman of St. Louis, MI and Hilda Oakes of Breckenridge regarded her as a second mother. Olga was preceded in death by her husband Gene, former manager of the St. Louis D&C Store from 1944-1979, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Public Library. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
