Olivia Christine Waldron, age 30, of Alma, MI, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at her home.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Sumner Cemetery, Sumner, MI. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 P.M.
Olivia was born in Lansing, Michigan, on May 28, 1993, the daughter of Aaron Eric and Aileen Mary (Ross) Waldron. With her younger sister Vanessa, she shared many happy times. Olivia treasured being an Aunt to her niece, Vera.
Olivia graduated from Ithaca High School, with the class of 2011. She attended Mid-Michigan Community College, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University. She also earned two Masters Degrees from Wayne State University – she proudly served her practicum with The Henry Ford Museum. Olivia worked at the Alma Public Library, for eight years, specializing in cataloging, and historical research.
During Olivia’s youth and young adult years, she was passionate about dance, running, and 4-H. As an adult, she was the Small Animal Leader with the Barnyard Bunch 4-H Club, and the Pocket Pet/Cat Superintendent for Gratiot County Fair for Youth. She deeply loved all animals, especially her dear pets. She was an active member of the Sumner Daze Festival Committee. Olivia’s thirst for knowledge was diverse. She was the family “expert” on all things concerning pop culture, movies, books, and genealogy.
She is survived by her mother Aileen Waldron of Alma, MI; sister Vanessa (Jacob) Nelson of Ithaca, MI; and her niece Vera Nelson. She is also survived by her grandfather Edward (Beatrice) Waldron, aunts and uncles: Jeanine Reimer, Melodee Waldron, Krystal (Mark) Clark, Alicia Waldron, Bruce (Tammy) Waldron, Wendell (Mollie) Waldron, and Mike (Christy) Ross; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Aaron Waldron, her grandparents: Rosalie Waldron, and David and Patricia Ross, Sr., and her uncle Alan Reimer.
