Onalee Putnam

Onalee B. Putnam, age 79, of Ithaca, MI left this earthly life on December 6, 2008 with her husband Harold by her side.

A Memorial Service will be held at the New Haven Church of the Brethren on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Brian Ruth officiating.

Onalee was born in New Haven Township, Michigan on June 22, 1929, the daughter of Gladwin and Mereta (Peters) Litwiller. Onalee married Harold Putnam on November 18, 1952 in Angola, Indiana. Harold fell in love with Onalee the moment they met and they spent their life together in Ithaca.

Onalee worked as a nurse for Smith Memorial Hospital, Dr. Waggoner and later for Gratiot Community Hospital. Onalee enjoyed quilting, knitting and sewing and was very talented in all. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her life taking care of and caring for others. At an early age Onalee surrendered her life to the Lord and served him throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Onalee was a member of New Haven Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Putnam of Ithaca, daughter Lynne and Walter Wentz of Crete, IL, 3 granddaughters; Courtney and Eric Greenlee of Bloomington, IL, Tara and Kevin Peters of Casper, WY, Amber Wyeth of St. Johns, MI; 5 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers; Eldon and Vada Litwiller of Carson City, MI, Kenneth and Lela Litwiller of Barron, WI, Carl and Rosemarie Litwiller of Sumner, MI & Leonard and DeAnna Litwiller of Murray, KY and sister-in-law, Lola Litwiller of Carson City, MI. Onalee was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Dana Putnam in 2003 and brother, Lynn Litwiller.
