Patricia LaVerne Slocum, age 70, of Corunna, MI passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Corunna, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church Owosso, MI on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Calvin Long will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery Owosso Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday April, 10, 2010 from 6-8 PM. and Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso.
Patricia was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 23, 1939, the daughter of Graydon V. and G. Vivian (Hoffman) Kennedy-Seastrum. She attended Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, MI. Patricia married Gary Slocum on November 29, 1985 at the First United Methodist Church, Owosso. She resided most of her life in Michigan, moving to Owosso from Nevada in 1976.
Patricia worked as a Secretary for Jennings-Lyons Funeral Chapel for 24 years. She enjoyed camping, gardening and loved visiting with her family. Patricia was a member and active with the Owosso First United Methodist Church activities including Stephen Ministries. She also was a member of Shi-ABWA.
Patricia is survived by her husband Gary Slocum of Corunna, MI, 2 daughters; Laurel Lee Earnhart and Terry Glasgow of Las Vegas, NV, Maureen and Scott Zelensky of Las Vegas, NV, 2 sons; R. James and Cindy Mahony of Sparta, MI, P. Graydon Mahony of Las Vegas, NV, 2 step-sons; Greg and Cristy Slocum of Kawkawlin, MI, Jeff and April Slocum of Greenville, SC; grandchildren; Andrea, Luke, Zoe, Mackenzie, Gabriel, Amber, Rachel, Brendon and Erica, and sister Karen and Patrick Cooney of Hatch, UT. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
