Patrick Martin Gallagher died February 1, 2009 at the age of 58. Born January 31, 1951 in Carson City, the son of William and Maxine (Riker) Gallagher. Pat spent his childhood growing up in Maple Rapids where he spent most of his days swimming in the river with friends. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1970 and began working for Fisher Body in Lansing. In 1971 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served in Germany from 1971 to 1973. Upon his return he worked again at Fisher Body until his retirement after more than 30 years. Pat had a love for yardwork and gardening, woodworking, gun and knife collecting, hunting, fishing and spending time riding his Harley Davidson. Pat was known to many as a dedicated, hard working man and avid birdwatcher. He was a true U of M fan.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Lyndsey (Eric) Lovejoy of Sterling Heights and Ashley Gallagher of Holt, grandsons, Karson, Kollin and Roberto Jr., granddaughters, Karmen and Thalia, fiance, Lynn Wright of Mason and her daughter, Jessica of Mason and sister, Colleen (Will) Blossey of Lansing . He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Michael Gallagher.
The family will receive friends, 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Abbott Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 509 E. Main St., Maple Rapids, MI. Burial will follow at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Fenner Nature Center 2020 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI 48910.
