Patrick Joseph "Pat" Kadlek

     Patrick Joseph "Pat" Kadlek, age 65, of Ovid, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at his home.

     A Graveside Service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford, Holly, MI, 48442) on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. Friends and family are welcome to gather back at the Main Bar in Ovid after the service.

   Patrick was born in Owosso, Michigan on September 7, 1957, the son of Frank and Juanita (Shinabery) Kadlek. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1975.

     Pat was employed as Quality Control at Pratt & Whitney Autoair in Lansing. He loved reading W.E.B Griffin books, scratch off tickets, weekly trips to Ovid to pick up the paper and he was an avid U of M fan. He looked forward to bringing "chalky milk" and donuts to his grandchildren on Sunday mornings. His family could always count on him to be there if they needed him (as long as he had a formal invitation). He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and will be remembered for saying "Once a Marine, Always a Marine". He was also a member of the NRA.

   He is survived by his bonus children: Krystal and Justin Fluharty and Jamie Borton, grandchildren: Chelsea and Matt Evans, Brenna Fluharty, Raygan Fluharty, Korbyn Fluharty, Emily Borton, Colin  Fluharty, Allison Brown, and Joshua Brown. He is also survived by his brother Michael Kadlek and niece and nephews Laura, Mike and Joe. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
