Paul Norvel Hoffman age 83 of St. Louis, Michigan died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Gratiot Medical Center Alma, MI.

There will be no services.

Paul was born in Ithaca, Michigan on June 12, 1922 the son of Lynn and Ireta Mae ( Munson ) Hoffman. He resided most of his life in Gratiot County and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1940 and then attended Niagara University. Paul married Marjorie Towsend on August 28, 1943 in St. Louis, Michigan. He retired from Dow Chemical on April 29, 1982. Paul enjoyed gardening, reading, and raised 8 children. He often traveled to Arizona to visit his sister, and also spent many summers at Higgins Lake. Paul was a member of the American Legion of St. Louis for 61 years as well as a member of the Breckenridge F&A Mason # 406. Paul served during WWII in the 329th Medical Batallion, and in the 104th Infantry Division.

He is survived by wife Marjorie Lucille (Townsend) Hoffman of St. Louis, MI, children; David & Karen Hoffman of Spring Lake, MI, Milton & Lori Hoffman of Shepherd, MI, Stephanie McCormick of Midland, MI, Paula Miller of Midland, MI, Marcia & Bill McCormick of Eagle, MI, Mary & Mike Federspeil of Midland, MI, Ruth & Tom Graham of Lake City, MI, Mark Hoffman of Lowell, MI, sister Betty & Gary Jones of Arizona, step-brother Stan & Frances Nesen of St. Louis, MI, 17 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Evelyn, and 2 step-brothers; Ron Nesen, and Bob Nesen.

Memorials may be made to American Legion. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
