Paul Louis “Sprocket” Krauter age 66, of Laingsburg, MI passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Paul was born in Garden City, Michigan on January 8, 1950 the son of Wilbur Otto and Mildred Eleanor (Boilore) Krauter.  He graduated from Northville High School with the class of 1968 and served in the U.S. Army as a Private during the Vietnam War. Paul resided most of his life in Laingsburg, Michigan.

Paul retired from General Motors in 1996. He was a proud life member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club.  He loved riding his motorcycle, deer hunting, salmon fishing, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and brothers and sisters of the VNV M/C.

He is survived by his life partner Wendy Midgett of Riverview, MI, his children; Lynn (Tony Sr.) Costantini of Crystal Falls, MI, Daniel (Lori) Elich Jr. of Ray, ND, Michelle (Roger) Thompson of Iron River, MI, and Janis Krauter of Laingsburg, MI.  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother Robert (Sharon) Krauter of Indian River, MI and several nephews and a niece.
